About the Role
Lyra is looking for a Senior Manager of Health Plan Operations to lead Lyra’s health plan billing operations team. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of and experience managing claims and billing payment operations with health plans in an outpatient care setting or directly with a health plan and can grasp complicated systems and claims billing rules quickly. They are also a strategic problem solver who constantly looks for opportunities for improvement, can identify, substantiate, and implement changes (big and small), and can work effortlessly in a fast-paced, start-up environment. They understand how to utilize team resources to drive key performance indicators and create scalable and sustainable operating systems.
This candidate will report to the Director of Core Operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end business process related to health plan claims submission and reconciliation
- Build out and effectively manage scalable processes for health plan claim operations and collections
- Audit existing processes and develop and implement solutions and key performance indicators including outstanding A/R, collection rates, adjustments, bad debt write off, estimated collections, appeal success rates, and other requested parameters to align with industry best practices
- Collaborate with product and technology teams to advocate for billing and reporting solutions that support continued scaling and operational efficiencies
- Project manage highly diverse stakeholder teams to implement new initiatives that streamline day-to-day operations and enable Lyra to scale and implement new health plan partnership arrangements
- Design and implement policies and procedures that adhere to the highest quality and compliance standards
- Track key operating metrics and leverage this information to make informed decisions about staffing and/or priorities, and effectively report out on program health to leadership audiences
- Serves as the subject-matter expert on regulatory and compliance requirements associated with Lyra’s health plan billing
- Support initiatives to build a team that embodies operational excellence; coach and develop direct reports
Qualifications
- 5+ years of previous management experience
- 15+ years experience in the health plan billing operations
- Experience in a digital start-up is a plus but not required
- Highly organized self-starter; able to multitask and be efficient in ambiguous situations
- Strong project management skills and a demonstrated ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams to drive outcomes
- Planning, problem-solving and critical thinking skills to anticipate, avert, or resolve issues in staffing, scheduling and task allocation
- Comfortable with using data to tell a story
- Ability to distill and communicate complex ideas clearly across different audiences
- Ability to set and maintain priorities when dealing with multiple demands and interruptions
- Passion for expanding access to quality mental health care
The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time Senior Manager, Health Plan Billing Operations is $95,000 - $146,000. The base range is determined by role and level, and placement within the range will depend on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
