Location: This full-time position will be carried out both in the office and at home, with a requirement to work 3 days per week from our office in Colonia Nápoles, Ciudad de México.
Responsibilities
- The position reports directly to Senior management: the candidate will work with directors, senior and other managers daily
- The position is responsible to interpret, develop, implement, and monitor all accounting policies and processes.
- Sensitive operations are made, including payment of dividends, payment of taxes, authorization of bank transactions, etc.
- Revenue accounting record, revenue reconciliation (invoicing and collections department), as well as reconciliation of bank statements vs. accounting.
- Account record of customer collections, supplier invoices, payments to suppliers, and provisions: depreciation, bank interest bank fees, etc.
- Review of payroll invoices, as well as review of withholdings (IMSS, ISR)
- Filing of monthly tax return on the SAT portal, as well as filing of local tax return (secretariat of finance, Mexico City/secretaria de finanzas Ciudad de Mexico)
- Registrations, cancellation, modifications of salaries to the IMSS
- Sending of capture line for tax payment: SAT, secretariat of finance and IMSS
- Other tax obligations: informative tax returns - electronic accounting - SAT notices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
- Bilingual - Fluent in both English and Spanish, with the ability to read write and speak both languages
- 3+ years of accounting experience and experience managing a small team of clerks.
- Continuous improvement mind-set – looking at opportunities to innovate and improve
- Excellent management and delegation skills
- Advanced Computer skills; especially Excel
- Knowledge of enterprise accounting system
- Knowledge of Mexican Tax/ VAT Laws
- Experience with Foreign Currency
- Having strong analytical skills and good business sense
- Possess high degree of integrity and professionalism
- Being proactive, independent and able to work under pressure
