The Clinton Health Access Initiative Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to our mission of saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries. We work at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems.
CHAI has recently established a dedicated Innovation group to develop and incubate promising and impactful new program areas for the organization. The Innovation group has identified Mental Health the first of a number of critical new areas of focus for CHAI. The Director will join the Innovation team to incubate CHAI’s org-wide mental health work, and ultimately spin off this new endeavor into its own full line of programming.
The Director, Mental Health, will play a pivotal role in advancing CHAI's global mental health initiatives. Reporting to senior leadership, the Director will be responsible for leading strategic efforts to expand access to mental health services in low- and middle-income countries. This will primarily focus on the incubation of new programs to address severe mental health conditions in CHAI countries such as severe clinical depression, severe anxiety disorders and PTSD, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The Director will collaborate closely with CHAI’s Ministry of Health partners to ensure effective mental health service integration and strengthen systems for lasting change.
The base location is flexible to a CHAI program country in Africa or Southeast Asia, pending country leadership approval.
