Role Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Sales Director to lead and drive clinical sales efforts with health plans, FQHCs, and schools. This individual will oversee our boots-on-the-ground team, account management, and clinical contracting efforts, ensuring seamless execution of partnerships and service delivery. The ideal candidate is a licensed clinician with a strong background in mental health and a proven track record in selling and executing contracts with FQHCs and schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership & Execution
- Serve as the primary sales lead for clinical sales efforts with health plans, FQHCs, and schools.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand Backpack’s reach within these sectors.
- Drive the full sales cycle, from lead generation and relationship-building to contract execution and implementation.
- Own revenue targets and pipeline forecasting for clinical sales.
- Team Leadership & Oversight
- Oversee and manage the boots-on-the-ground team, ensuring effective outreach and engagement.
- Lead the account management team to drive adoption, retention, and expansion within existing partnerships.
- Manage the clinical contracting process, ensuring alignment with operational and compliance standards.
- Strategic Partnerships & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers at health plans, FQHCs, and schools.
- Identify new opportunities for partnerships and lead efforts to expand Backpack’s presence in key markets.
- Serve as a trusted clinical and business advisor, ensuring that Backpack’s offerings align with partner needs.
Qualifications:
- Mental health experience is required—deep understanding of behavioral health services and reimbursement models.
- Must have prior experience selling and executing deals with FQHCs and schools—including navigating contracts, credentialing, and program development.
- Licensed clinician strongly preferred (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PhD, PsyD, or equivalent).
- 7+ years of experience in clinical sales, business development, or account management within healthcare.
- Strong leadership experience, including managing field sales teams and account management teams.
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth and execute sales strategies in the healthcare space.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with partners and support sales efforts.
