About the Role
As InStride Health enters a period of expansion, we are seeking a Director of Business Development to lead and scale our referral and partnership efforts. This role will oversee a team of 7-10 Territory Managers, driving regional growth, optimizing referral channels, and ensuring InStride's services reach children and families in need. The Director will serve as a strategic leader, helping to develop market expansion strategies while also mentoring and empowering the Territory Management team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 7-10 Territory Managers, ensuring they meet and exceed growth and partnership goals.
- Develop and execute a national business development strategy, balancing market-specific approaches with scalable processes.
- Build and foster high-impact partnerships with major health systems, physician groups, and key stakeholders to increase referral volume.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Clinical, Payor, and Operations teams to optimize referral pathways, ensure partner success, and drive sustained growth.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics for the Territory Management team, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on InStride’s services, articulating the value proposition to key stakeholders across diverse markets. Ensure the value proposition is tailored and refined by stakeholders.
- Identify and capitalize on new referral opportunities, leveraging market intelligence and innovative outreach strategies.
- Take a data-driven approach by analyzing pipeline performance, referral trends, and market dynamics to drive decision-making.
- Represent InStride Health at industry events, conferences, and key meetings to build brand awareness and strengthen relationships.
What You Need to Succeed in the Role
- 7-10+ years of experience in healthcare business development, provider relations, or market growth strategy.
- Proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing business development teams.
- Deep understanding of healthcare provider networks, particularly within health systems, PCP groups, and pediatric specialty care.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills with the ability to develop a team and drive accountability.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in CRM software, analytics tools, and market research.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support the team and strengthen key partnerships.
The expected annual salary for this role is between $140,000-$160,000. Actual starting salary will be determined on an individualized basis and will be based on several factors including but not limited to specific skill set, work experience, licensure, etc. In addition to base compensation, this role offers a target performance-based bonus.
