About the role
The Vice President, Medical Operations & Quality is at the helm of clinical guidance and training, ensuring high-quality medical and psychiatric care for patients at Equip. This role participates in the development, and leads the implementation and monitoring of policies and protocols. The Vice President, Medical Operations & Quality works with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including leadership for Equip’s medical entity, to support the Medical team in delivering integrated care that retains patients and ensures outcomes. This position requires strategic thinking regarding how to scale care in a fast-growth environment, while partnering to ensure that we are creating sustainable systems.
This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring an outstanding patient experience. This role inspires a team of Medical providers working in a multi-disciplinary care team virtual care model.
Responsibilities
Quality Improvement: Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives to elevate patient care standards and operational practices. In collaboration with PC Owner, develop patient care protocols and mechanisms through which to ensure quality - chart audits, peer review, patient satisfaction.
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute on initiatives to enhance the efficacy and efficiency of Medical providers ensuring alignment with Equip’s mission and goals.
Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of clinical care, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency to deliver on Equip and team goals.
Provider Engagement: Foster strong relationships with providers within and across teams, promoting collaboration and engagement to enhance clinical outcomes and efficiency. Lead the rollout and execution of initiatives in the way that builds buy-in for change.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience & Education: 5+ years of experience practicing with a minimum of 3+ years leading medical teams, preferably with experience in a virtual care setting. Completed US-based residency program and fellowship in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics combined, Family Medicine or Psychiatry with board certification as an MD or DO with a current unrestricted state license to practice medicine. Master’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Management a bonus.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate and lead diverse teams, with exceptional strategic planning and decision-making skills. Excellent ability to reduce complexity for various audiences and communicate. Flexible leader who can operate strategically across multiple domains and still hands-on with ability to drive execution.
Collaboration & Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for communicating and gaining buy-in to change as well as cultivating and maintaining relationships. Collaborator who acts with humility, inclusiveness and open-mindedness to other perspectives. Ability to solicit input on topics and balance those perspectives to arrive at decisions that support the needs of Equip, providers, and patients.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
Physical Demands
Work is performed 100% remotely with travel required at least once per quarter. This position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
