As part of the Clinical Product Team, Apple is looking for a Clinical Specialist who will partner with team members across the company to develop products, experiences, assessments, and research studies in the area of mental wellbeing.
Description
You serve as the deep subject matter expert in a multi-functional team developing Apple’s health products. Your expertise is in mental wellbeing, and ideally have some additional subject matter expertise in the area of health products that apply to children and adolescents. The ideal candidate has experience with and a strong desire to build innovative consumer-focused features, is effective at executing detailed deliverables on time, excels at working closely with matrixed teams, engages in open discussion and debates well, and is not shy from a challenge.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams on clinical product development.
• Identify and implement theories of mental health and wellbeing, and engage with authorities within the field.
• Craft clinical protocols, and distill protocols and knowledge into requirements and principles that inform product development
• Synthesize information from multiple teams and theories to form a unique methodology, and communicate it to partner teams and company leadership.
• Partner closely with design, engineering and data science teams.
• Design feasibility studies
• Conduct detailed literature reviews and summarize key points clearly and succinctly.
• Communicate and manage relationships with a diverse group of internal and external collaborators.
• Anticipate, adjust for, and communicate problems, risks, and roadblocks.
Minimum Qualifications
- PsyD, PhD in psychology, behavioral science, cognitive science or related field.
- Expertise in health behavior change, and/or assessment and treatment for common mental health challenges.
- Expertise in applying clinical intervention frameworks to digital products, through participation in cross functional teams that have made products that people use.
- 2+ years of experience developing digital products, or experience working in companies with regulated medical products or digital health products
- Experience representing one’s area of expertise in presentations other than non-clinical audiences, describing rationale for product design and/or research findings for digital mental health products.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to simplify complex clinical concepts and communicate these to non-clinical team members
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical and product experience with interventions for both clinical and non-clinical populations
- Experience with mental health and/or behavior change care-delivery in the context of primary care
- 5+ years experience in academic and/or industry setting after formal training (i.e., postdoctoral fellowship or equivalent)
- 5+ years experience on a cross-functional team building digital consumer products
- Experience with AI/ML applications in digital products
- Independent self-starter who thrives in complex and ambiguous environments
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $203,300 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
