About the Role:
The Senior Director of Therapy provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Equip's expanding team of 100+ therapists, ensuring that patients receive exceptional, outcomes-driven care. This role is critical in shaping the vision and execution of therapeutic services, fostering a patient-first culture, and driving consistent quality in care delivery through robust infrastructure and management systems.
The Senior Director will oversee a multi-tiered management structure to enhance team performance and operational efficiency while ensuring adherence to clinical protocols. This role requires a proactive leader with a proven track record of building high-performing teams, driving innovation, and delivering measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Operations & Execution
- Develop and implement an operational approach for Equip’s Therapy team, aligned with goals related to fidelity to treatment, patient engagement/satisfaction, and quality outcomes that drive scalability and consistent execution.
- Supervise development, implementation, and operation of a quality assurance program as it relates to patient care and participate in quality improvement processes.
- Own and monitor performance metrics to deliver on the Therapy team goals, collaborating with the Data & Insights team to track provider and supervisor outcomes, using data to inform decisions.
- Continually evaluate Therapy team protocols and processes to ensure care is delivered consistently, effectively, and efficiently.
- Partner with Product & Engineering to identify and prioritize needs for integration into technology platforms.
- Lead implementation of Equip initiatives within the Therapy team.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor Therapy team leaders, providing direction and support to ensure consistent solutions that enhance patient experience and care standards.
- Delegate and coordinate responsibilities among Regional Therapy Managers (RTMs) to ensure effective leadership and operations within the Therapy team.
- Collaborate with Clinical and Operations team leaders to promote a team-based approach to care delivery.
- Assess and identify needs for provider supervision and education.
- Manage hiring, development, and broadly setting and reinforcing performance expectations of Therapists. Guiding RTMs in their oversight of leaders who provide regular feedback to Therapists, conduct performance reviews, and address any performance issues as necessary.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in a leadership role (leader of leaders), managing large behavioral health teams providing evidence-based care in a virtual model, with a commitment to quality and patient outcomes.
- Preferred degree in counseling, social work, psychology, mental health, or area related to behavioral health care. Alternatively, equivalent experience in the broader behavioral health care field will be considered. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of mental health principles and practices.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with proven success in strategic leadership and team development.
- Experience building mechanisms to drive teams to deliver on outcomes.
- Strong ability to build relationships and lead across different levels of an organization, with expertise in promoting ideas, resolving conflicts, and driving strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and solving complex problems, particularly in clinical or operational contexts.
- Team builder and champion of a positive, collaborative work culture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data insights into strategic actions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
Physical Demands
Work is performed 100% from home with no requirement to travel. This is a stationary position that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
