About the Role
We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Applications Platform team, which powers core backend services central to Rula’s operations and user experiences. In this role, you’ll design and build scalable systems that provide data and services across multiple verticals, ensuring the platform remains reliable, maintainable, and ready for future growth. As a technical leader, you’ll drive architectural decisions, mentor team members, and play a critical role in shaping the systems that underpin our platform and enable teams across Rula to deliver exceptional value.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or comparable work experience.
7+ years of professional engineering experience.
Demonstrable experience in a role providing technical leadership and mentorship.
Experience delivering highly scalable, reliable, available, and performant systems.
Demonstrated success building positive relationships with partners and stakeholders.
Proven track record of modern applications design architecture, good API design patterns, security, performance, and scaling.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience at early or growth-stage companies.
Demonstrated success leveraging data to inform decisions.
Experience with AWS or equivalent platforms.
Experience with NodeJs, Typescript, Kafka
