Lyra Southern Africa are looking for a hands-on, technically experienced project manager that will not only have the ability and experience to deliver on project goals and timeframes, but also use their considerable technical experience to add to the project teams’ knowledge and take management responsibility for the team.
The Senior ICT - and Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of specific infrastructure, cloud migration, systems and related projects in the technology department. This would include managing a team of employees to ensure projects are completed on time and within their specified budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting project goals and coming up with plans to meet those goals
- Maintaining project timeframes, budgeting estimates and status reports
- Managing resources for projects, such as computer equipment and employees
- Coordinating project team members and developing schedules and individual responsibilities
- Implementing IT strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget
- Using project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence
- Conducting risk assessments for projects
- Organizing meetings to discuss project goals and progress
- Implementing sound technology solutions using their extensive experience in a hands-on capacity
Qualifications and Experience
- Project Management Certification (PMP) will be beneficial
- Experience with Telecoms is essential
- Direct experience with Information Security is essential
- Experience with ITIL, ICT Governance and Security including policies and procedures is essential
- Must have specific experience in cloud migration projects with a focus on Microsoft and Google Workspace, including Azure etc.
About you
- You will be an established professional in the ICT environment with strong People Management and Project Management experience.
- Are able to comfortably manage an existing department, bringing new thoughts and ideas whilst establishing company values.
- Ideally you will have experience reporting regularly to Director level and above.
- Ability to have a hand on approach when needed
- In-depth knowledge of different operating systems, network management and service desk administration is desirable
- Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Organised with the ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively.
- Continuous improvement mind-set – looking at opportunities to innovate & improve.
- Is passionate, enthusiastic, and excited about the opportunity, recognising where they can add value.
