About The Role
At Headway, we're building the future of behavioral health quality and safety. We're hiring a Principal, Psychotherapy Clinical Quality to spearhead our clinical quality monitoring initiatives and lead our Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation Program. You'll work cross-functionally with Operations, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and other teams to build robust clinical quality frameworks and optimize chart review workflows. You will:
- Lead Headway's clinical quality strategy, developing protocols and processes that uphold safety, efficiency, and effectiveness standards for the practice of psychotherapy.
- Build and scale our Professional Practice Evaluation programs, directly improving clinical outcomes across our provider network
- Conduct routine chart reviews and monitoring, providing feedback to clinicians and creating remediation plans for documentation concerns
- Collaborate with Product teams to ensure our EHR meets industry clinical standards and develop automated quality monitoring systems
- Supervise clinical teams and peer reviewers, building clinical oversight capabilities as we scale
- Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and create scalable feedback systems for providers
You will love this role if:
- You are an independently licensed therapist (LPC, LCSW, PhD, or PsyD) with 8+ years of post-graduate experience in both clinical practice and fast-paced business environments
- You have extensive experience completing quality chart reviews and audits for healthcare organizations, with a track record of training others on clinical documentation standards
- You are a thought leader passionate about reimagining behavioral health quality, ideally with experience across traditional healthcare organizations, public health systems, and/or healthcare startups
- You thrive as a collaborator, building bridges between clinical strategy and product, operations, and business teams
- You are a strategic first-principles thinker who can decompose complex problems into clear strategies and actionable plans
- You have experience supervising clinicians or large provider teams, with strong performance management skills
- You are motivated by the opportunity to improve access to high-quality behavioral healthcare at scale
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected base pay range for this position is $146,200 - $215,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
