At Avela Health, we’re transforming how families access autism care — making it simpler, faster, and more human. Our virtual, family-centered programs are guided by empathy, expertise, and the belief that every person deserves support that truly fits their life.
The Director of Partnerships will lead Avela Health’s referral and partnership strategy, driving sustainable growth through relationships with healthcare providers, educational institutions, and community organizations. This leader will develop and execute a scalable outreach strategy that deepens referral networks, increases awareness of Avela’s model, and ensures smooth collaboration with referral partners.
This role is ideal for a mission-driven professional experienced in healthcare partnerships, referral network development, or strategic outreach within the pediatric or behavioral health ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Avela Health’s clinical referral and partnership strategy, aligned with Avela Health’s acquisition and go-to-market plans (starting with a focus in New Jersey, with expansion in 2026)..
- Identify, prioritize, and activate key referral sources across pediatrics, behavioral health, developmental pediatrics, school systems, and autism-specific providers.
- Build and maintain a scalable referral infrastructure leveraging Avela’s CRM (HubSpot) for tracking and reporting.
- Cultivate deep, long-term partnerships with physicians, therapists, educators, and health systems.
- Lead both virtual and in-person “boots-on-the-ground” outreach, including regular office visits, Lunch & Learns, and participation in local conferences.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to strengthen credibility and facilitate introductions.
- In coordination with the marketing team, develop co-branded educational materials, webinars, and newsletters for referral partners.
- Implement a white-glove referral experience — ensuring partners receive timely updates, feedback, and gratitude.
- Support the design of physical and digital referral resources, including brochures, referral pads, and partner welcome kits.
- Establish measurable goals for top-of-funnel outreach, meetings, and conversion of active referral partners.
- Monitor partnership performance using HubSpot dashboards; analyze data to refine outreach cadence, messaging, and targeting.
- Track referrals both inbound and outbound to ensure mutual value across partnerships.
- Partner with Marketing to align clinical referral campaigns with brand messaging and digital initiatives.
- Coordinate with Clinical Operations to ensure a seamless patient experience from referral through care delivery.
- Contribute insights from the field to inform strategic growth planning and market positioning.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in partnerships, provider relations, business development, or outreach in healthcare or behavioral health.
- Deep familiarity with the New Jersey healthcare and education ecosystem — ideally with existing networks among pediatric, behavioral, or autism specialists.
- Strong understanding of referral dynamics in health systems, private practices, and schools.
- Demonstrated success in managing multi-channel outreach (email, phone, in-person) and building high-value partner relationships.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and data-driven tracking of outreach and referral metrics.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Mission-aligned, empathetic, and energized by serving neurodivergent families.
- Must be based in New Jersey with the ability to travel across the state for partner engagement and events.
Benefits
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Fully remote work environment (must be based in New Jersey and comfortable local outreach).
- Opportunities for professional development and growth.
- Supportive, collaborative team atmosphere.
