The Opportunity:
Grow Therapy is seeking a Senior Manager / Director of Data to lead our Match Success pillar, a core part of our marketplace that focuses on connecting clients with the right providers. In this role, you will oversee data science efforts across provider profiles, search and browse experiences, and the analytical foundations of our therapist ranking system. You will help define how match quality is measured, partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Machine Learning to guide experimentation and modeling decisions, and ensure data informs every major tradeoff in how clients find care. Your work will directly influence user trust, retention, and long term outcomes, and will shape how Grow Therapy scales access to high quality mental health care.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead and develop a high performing data science team focused on marketplace quality, match success, and search and browse experiences.
- Define success metrics, experimentation frameworks, and analytical standards for evaluating and improving therapist ranking and matching systems.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Machine Learning teams to influence roadmap decisions, balance relevance and marketplace constraints, and drive measurable improvements in match quality.
- Guide rigorous analysis and modeling efforts, including hands on review and contribution when needed, while maintaining a player coach approach to technical leadership.
- Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders, ensuring data driven decisions across product strategy and investment planning.
You’ll Be a Good Fit If:
- 8+ years of experience in a quantitative role within fast paced consumer technology environments, including experience leading data science teams working on product critical systems.
- Strong background in applied machine learning and experimentation, particularly in ranking, relevance, personalization, or matching problems.
- Fluent in SQL and Python, with the ability to both set technical direction and roll up your sleeves on complex analyses or modeling work.
- Proven track record of partnering with Product and Engineering to influence strategy, execution, and tradeoffs through data and clear communication.
- Motivated by improving access to mental health care and energized by owning ambiguous, high impact problems in a mission driven marketplace.
